OPERATION WOLF DOS 1989

One of the better conversions of Taito's arcade games, Operation Wolf, like its arcade counterpart, is a furious first-person shooter that goes beyond a typical 3D target practice with fluid animations, a wide variety of enemies, and fun bonuses.

Gameplay is standard click-to-shoot, but what makes Operation Wolf fun is that there are many types of enemies to shoot at, all of whom animated realistically. You will see infantrymen rolled from side to side to evade your fire before lobbing grenades at you; tanks lumber along and aim their deadly gun barrel at you; helicopters that hover too low can be shot down; et cetera. There are many ammo types and grenades to collect and use, as well as necessities such as first aid kits that restore your health.

Operation Wolf may be mindless, but it's mindless fun at its best, for the same reason that its arcade counterpart was a huge quarters eater. Great for taking a break from more demanding action games on the market.

Streets of Rage 4 - continuation of the cult beat-em-up series, the previous part of which was released back in 1994. Events start 10 years after the end of the third game.

Peace has returned to Wood Oak City. The syndicate, led by Mr. X, collapsed, and the heroes of the series, who made every effort to calm the metropolis, went about their business. But as usual, a new criminal empire looms over the city, which the police alone cannot cope with..

Despite such a long break, our protagonists, returning to the streets for justice, saw all the same sparkling neon signs, garbage cans, fried chicken and, of course, all the same hooligans and gopniks terrorizing the neighborhood.

The gameplay brings you back to the good old days, when you didn't need to saturate the gameplay with puzzles, RPG elements and platforming - just solid action with 2D side-scrolling elements.

At the beginning of the game, 4 heroes are available. In the course of the plot, the 5th opens. There are 12 characters in total in the game, unlocked with earned bonuses. Each fighter is unique in its own way, among them are available:

  • Floyd is a mountain of muscles with a cyber prosthesis that can grab several opponents at once;
  • Cherry is a petite female guitarist who can run. She is the daughter of Adam Hunter, the hero of the first part;
  • Axel is a regular character in the series, represented in the game in as many as three versions: one quickly dodges, the second has a rich range of techniques, the third has a large engagement zone, etc..
Players can pick up first aid kits or melee weapons at the level. At the levels, bosses are available that can attack not alone, but immediately with a crowd of henchmen. The so-called "juggles" are available - blows with which you can prevent opponents from landing or counterattack.

Special attacks are divided into three types: defensive, ground attack, and air attack. Each character has an ult, the radius of which reaches half the screen.

One of the main features of Streets of Rage 4 is that the developers have changed little compared to the classics. Only slightly modernized, thrown out controversial elements, such as a timer and gave a real sense of celebration to all fans of old-school beat-em-ups and hardcore action games.

FAR Lone Sails PC Game

Simulator of control of a unique ship in a platformer - FAR: Lone Sails - allows you to explore all dry land on Earth after the apocalypse. The plot tells very little about the ship itself, however, we understand that the owner of the ship has cut out, changed, improved the ship several times so that it travels freely through the desert. The gameplay is that we move the ship across locations, but do not forget about the character inside it. The controls depend entirely on the mode where the ship is presented in the section. In the same place we will see the buttons for controlling the ship, we can turn on the engine, fill the boiler, open the sails..

Since nothing lasts forever, like the world around the character, the ship will also be damaged. Its original condition requires repair, but while we are looking for suitable parts, it will break several more times. We must repair it to such a state that we can get to the place where the sun is pointing as quickly as possible..

The mechanics and physics of the game are simple. If the ship catches fire, then you must extinguish the fire; if the sail is torn, then it is necessary to sew it up; if the chassis is out of order, we must fix it.

There are no enemies in FAR: Lone Sails, but the protagonist can die.

The plot begins with a shot about the death of the protagonist's father. Its movement is not conditioned by anything. He must interest himself in order to conquer the deserted desert.

On the territory of the locations there will be dead cities, dry deserts, eternal darkness and wind
